Snips and snails.

So I am a bit of a girly girl, most people are wondering (including myself) how I am going to cope with having a little boy, knowing nothing of little boys except that they had 'boy germs' when I was younger.

Today I was hanging out the washing when I almost stepped on something that made me scream and screech like the girl I am, once I had calmed down a little to have a good look, I suprised myself by getting a stick and picking it up to show Otto.  It looks prehistoric and gave me shivers the whole time, I have no idea what it is but the fact that I can pick it up with a stick means maybe, just maybe, this mothering of boys thing might be ok, well until Otto picks them up himself and brings them inside!

Anyone have any idea what the hell this is?

Ok, so looking at it a bit more, is that just a giant earthworm?

  1. I would call it a slug. Good luck with the 'boy things', I wonder this about myself too.

  2. Yes, it's just a giant earthworm. We have them here, especially hiding underneath the ducks bathtub. I tipped all the water out the other day and found 3 of these hiding under there, one was nearly 30cm long! Another had tied itself into a knot, I made Nathan untie the poor thing.

  3. Wow, 30cm is big! We don't get them very much here, but as I am starting to try and get a veggie patch going I think these are about to become my best friends.
